What are the differences between the filters used in these two systems?

If you feel your own tap-water tastes strange or have a strange odour or if you feel buying (plastic) bottled water expensive and wasteful (as far as plastic-production & plastic-disposal is concerned), or if you’d like to reduce your carbon-footprint, buy one of these systems!
My Mother-in-law had been buying bottled water as she was convinced the local NY water supply didn’t taste good, so I bought one of these to filter the water. She now drinks it without any negative comment and it has saved over $500/year by not buying plastic-bottled water.
It’s a five-star product which drops a star rating only because I feel that the tap at the base of the unit should be able to improve flow better than it does … it works fine when the base container is almost full, but flow is impeded when the base unit is about half empty.
Nevertheless, a great portable buy and good to know that should a natural disaster strike locally, as seems to happen quite frequently now, we could deal with ditch-water if necessary, safely!

We have one in the house we have now used for over a year. Big difference in water taste and clarity. I would never drink the city water straight up again.

Yes, but you will need PF4 Filters in order to reduce Fluoride in the water.

So I have seen the words, REDUCE fluoride…so it does not remove it? I do not own one yet but researching.

Water sources will vary in the amount of fluoride that they potentially have. The media in the PF4s will reduce the amount of fluoride and arsenic in the water, but may remove the amount of fluoride present. The challenge is that there is not a uniform amount of fluoride that will be added to all water, therefore reduction is what can be claimed due to the water having sufficient contact time with the media to reduce whatever amount of fluoride may be present.

I haven’t bought one yet but have quite a few friends who own them .
I have drank the water and am pleased. Two of my friends have the largest and they have no complaints except that their families drink more water and have to fill more. Which isn’t a problem at all. That’s the idea. So I am looking to buy one. It’s just figuring out which one.
